Waiver Wire

Ravens QB Joe Flacco – After a monster week 1, it might not be a bad idea to grab Flacco if he is available. Couple of reasons. It’s always nice to have a reliable back-up on yur roster for bye-weeks and injuries. But other managers might fall victim to the injury bug, and he can be trade bait later in the season.

Buccaneers RB Carnell Williams - What a pleasant surprie Cadillac was. 97 yards and a TD on 13 carries. If the Bucs were in the game, he would have had more touches. He has a nice stretch to end the season onto the fantasy playoffs. Starting with week 9. GB, MIA, NO, ATL, CAR, JETS, SEA (wk 15), NO (wk 16)

Saints RB Mike Bell – The guy ran for 148 yards on 28 carries yesterday. go get him. Especially if you have Pierre Thomas. And Hurry.

Colts WRs Pierre Garcon & Austin Collie – Anthony Gonzalez will be out for 2-6 weeks. One of these 2 guys need to fill his role. NFL.com’s Colts Depth Chart has Collie as AG’s backup.

Jets TE Dustin Keller – Mark Sanchez got plenty of use out of the Jets best receiving option. If he is available, go get him. He will put up low end TE1 numbers.

Injuries

Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb will not play in Week 2 against the Saints. He suffered a cracked rib in the Eagles 38-10 win over the Panthers.

  • The Eagles are saying McNabb will try to play in week 2. But a cracked rib is a cracked rib. Better off letting him sit this week, than risk further injury. If he sits it hurts all Eagles offensive players fantasy value this week. Except Brian Westbrook’s which will increase.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo’s post-game media session was delayed because he was having his right ankle examined. Romo suffered the injury in the third quarter but did not miss any snaps.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez suffered a right knee injury during Sunday’s 14-12 season-opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and could be out several weeks.

New York Giants Rookie WR Hakeem Nicks was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of the Giants’ season opener against the Redskins. The Giants announced Nicks has a foot sprain and his X-rays are negative. He could miss 2 weeks.

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair his dislocated right wrist.

Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Bryant told the St. Petersburg Times on Monday that he won’t miss any time this week due to his sore knee. Bryant didn’t play in the second half of Sunday’s game due to the knee soreness.

Nuggets

The Jake Delhomme Saga

First the Panthers say they will stick with Jake. “Obviously we start back there with Jake,” Panthers coach John Fox said

Then Fox kept in play during his Monday news conference the possibility that the Panthers will bring in an other quarterback before practice resumes Wednesday. He said he “wouldn’t rule it out”

He didn’t offer Delhomme a significant vote of confidence, responding to questions about the quarterback’s job security as “day-to-day”
