So, Terrell Owens thinks the Bills will make the playoffs. There is a better chance of seeing Jesus Christ himself smoking a joint at a frat party. Let’s get real TO. I know you said that for the Bills fans benefit, but c’mon did you forget that the Patriots are in your division?
You never know though, not one person thought the Cardinals would make it to the Super Bowl. But I can name 3 reasons why the Bills will be sittng at home during Wild Card weekend. The Patriots, The Jets, and The Dolphins.
I accused TO of “Dreaming a Little Dream.” So this why the Bills won’t make the playoffs.
Make no mistake, Owens will get his 10 TDs. Owens is a tremendous player and will cause many problems for the rest of the Division. But he isn’t the problem. The problem is Buffalos first 3 games. At the Patriots, and 2 home games vs. Tampa Bay and New Orleans. Especially without Marshawn Lynch. It will be very hard for Buffalo to win in New England for their home opener. The team will be all amped up to see Tom Brady heading back onto the field. Who knows about the Bucs game, but will the Bills new “K-Gun” offense be able to keep up the Saints. I don’t think so. All I know is I would take Drew Brees over Trent Edwards any day, any time.
It is feasible that the Bills start 1-2 with a division loss. Good thing is that the other games are out of conference. Follow that with a trip to Miami in week 4 and a trip to Jersey in week 6. Wow! That is one tough 6 game stretch to open a season. Imagine if they somehow lost all 3 division games. That would pretty much cancel any hopes to win the East.
That leaves them a Wild Card slot. Do yourself a favor and take a look at the AFC South for a minute…Colts…Jaguars…Texans…Titans. Actually let me do you a favor and take a quick peek at it right now. With the exception of Houston, it would be real difficult to explain how the Bills will outperform the other 3. It’s safe to say 2 of those 3 will make the playoffs. One by winning the division and the other securing wild card 1. The East Plays the South this season, and Buffalo has back to back road games @ TEN and @ JAC in weeks 10 and 11. Ouch!
Assuming New England, Pittsburgh, and San Diego win their respective divisions, the Bills will be competing with The Jets, Dolphins, Ravens, Broncos, and the 3rd team in the South for that last spot.
If Buffalo continues on it’s inconsistent path from 2008 through 2009, starting with QB Trent Edwards, it can turn into a loooong season for the Bills. Be prepared to wave goodbye to one year contract wonder Terrell Owens as well.
Sorry TO, I just don’t see it happening…
