Waiver Wire

Ravens QB Joe Flacco – After a monster week 1, it might not be a bad idea to grab Flacco if he is available. Couple of reasons. It’s always nice to have a reliable back-up on yur roster for bye-weeks and injuries. But other managers might fall victim to the injury bug, and he can be trade bait later in the season.

Buccaneers RB Carnell Williams - What a pleasant surprie Cadillac was. 97 yards and a TD on 13 carries. If the Bucs were in the game, he would have had more touches. He has a nice stretch to end the season onto the fantasy playoffs. Starting with week 9. GB, MIA, NO, ATL, CAR, JETS, SEA (wk 15), NO (wk 16)

Saints RB Mike Bell – The guy ran for 148 yards on 28 carries yesterday. go get him. Especially if you have Pierre Thomas. And Hurry.

Colts WRs Pierre Garcon & Austin Collie – Anthony Gonzalez will be out for 2-6 weeks. One of these 2 guys need to fill his role. NFL.com’s Colts Depth Chart has Collie as AG’s backup.

Jets TE Dustin Keller – Mark Sanchez got plenty of use out of the Jets best receiving option. If he is available, go get him. He will put up low end TE1 numbers. [click to continue…]

How about Joe Flacco. What a lock yo. That was lame, but Joe’s game Sunday wasn’t. He threw for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns. Along with a pick but that’s ok.

Tony Romo had himself a pretty dope day as well. He rocked to the tune of 353 yards and 3 touchdowns.

How awesome is Reggie Wayne? The guy catches everything. This week Reggie hauled in 10 passes for 162 yards and a TD.

Now Adrian Peterson is a sick, sick, man. Did you see him tear up Cleveland’s defense? 180 yards on 25 carries and 3 touchdowns? You can’t be serious. He is on pace for 2,880 yards rushing and 48 touchdowns.

Speaking of “you can’t be serious” Drew Brees can’t be serious. 358 yards and 6 touchdowns. Drew will be this year’s MVP. No doubt in my mind. Can’t wait to go to New Orleans for the Jets game on Oct. 4th to check this guy out. He is my man-crush. [click to continue…]

Brian Griese is expected to be cut by Tampa Bay later this week, two sources told FOXSports.com. The Buccaneers added two quarterbacks last month by signing ex-Jacksonville starter Byron Leftwich and using a first-round draft choice on Kansas State’s Josh Freeman and also re-signed five-year veteran Luke McCown earlier this offseason and still has 2008 fifth-round pick Josh Johnson on the roster. Griese hasn’t reported to offseason workouts and hasn’t participated in this week’s OTA sessions held at Bucs headquarters.

Meanwhile…

Antonio Bryant feels he is ready to be a team leader and is looking to silence any doubters about his abilities to be a team player. “I’ve got a lot to prove,” Bryant said. “Last year was for the haters … this year is for the doubters. When you have a year like that, you’re going to get more attention. This year, it might not be about me getting the ball. If that means Antonio has to run 89 comebacks and that’ll get us in the playoffs, then I’ll run 89 comebacks.” Bryant was about to test the free agent market before the Bucs slapped him with the franchise tag in February. He will make $9.5 million this season, and that is quite a consolation prize. “I can’t do anything about that,” Bryant said of his contract status. “It is what it is. I’m here, I’m at my job, I’m doing what I’m supposed to do and I’m gonna do it 110 percent.”

Earnest Graham is ready for the season to begin now. Graham said has fully recovered from last year’s season-ending ankle injury against Minnesota. In addition, Graham said if the season began today, he would be ready to play. “I’m fine. I’m at 100 percent,” Graham said. “I’m ready to rock. I’m good.”
