Linebacker Shawne Merriman is displeased with his tender offer from the Chargers, according to his personal twitter page. He said, “Speechless today. Business is business but some things just are not right.” Merriman is not eligible to hit free agency, and a team would have to give up a first and third-round draft pick to acquire him away from the Chargers.

Marc Buger’s agent waiting on decision from Rams

There are talks occurring between the Rams and quarterback Marc Bulger’s agents to decide his fate sooner rather than later but there is no urgency to make a move prior to March 5th because there are no salary-cap implications to having Bulger on or off the roster. Because no trade can be consummated until March 5th, the Rams would only release him prior to that date if they have exhausted all potential efforts to deal him.

Waiver Wire

Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker – If you haven’t picked this guy up yet. YOu more than likely missed the boat.

Browns WR Mohamed Massaquoi – What a game this guy had catching 8 balls for 148 yards in Derek Anderson’s first start of the season. With Braylon Edwards out of the picture he should see plenty of looks throughout the season.

Jaguars QB David Garrard – Seems like he is getting his game back. A nice 4 game stretch coming up as well. Seattle and St. Louis up next, and Tennessee and KC after his week 7 bye. Great spot start

Browns RB Jerome Harrison - We have been pulling for this guy as soon as Jamal Lewis got hurt. Get him before he is gone. Even when Lewis comes back it will hard for the Browns not to give this kid the ball.

Eagles TE Brent Celek – Coming off his bye he should be available and will fill in nicely if you can get him. He will be a top 10 TE in fantasy stats by years end, and you will never have to worry about who to start at TE for the rest of the season.

Post image for Fantasy Football 2009 Week 5 Running Back Rankings

1. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) @ St. Louis – The best Running Back against the worst defense. Well at least the 24th worse. Good things. 130/2

2. Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville Jaguars) @ Seattle – Have no fear MJD owners. It was just 1 game. Seattle has the 21st ranked rush defense. which isn’t terrible, but isn’t great. MJD will get back on track this week, even if the game is in Seattle. 120/1

3. Marion Barber (Dallas Cowboys) @ Kansas City – MB Thrice got a bit banged up a couple weeks ago. He came back strong with 13 carries for 68 yards and a TD. The Chiefs rush defense is ranked 23rd. If Barber stays healthy, his workload will increase. 110/1.5

4. Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans) vs. Indianapolis – The only way to beat the Colts is to keep Peyton on the sideline. And it would a bad move for Jeff Fisher not to run CJ on every play. Every play. Indy’s rush defense is pretty good coming in at 16. All it will take is one long run to put CJ over the 100 yard mark. 115/1

5. Brandon Jacobs (New York Giants) vs. Oakland – You gotta love Jacobs this week. Oakland is fielding the 26th worse rush defense, and Eli has healinitis. Give the big man the rock baby. 110/1

Fantasy Football 2009 Week 3 Running Back Rankings

Post image for Fantasy Football 2009 Week 3 Running Back Rankings

1. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) vs. San Francisco – Peterson didn’t disappoint in week 2 after running circles around Detroit in week 1. He racked up 119 total yards and a TD in week 2. This weeks match up might be a little tougher with the 49ers defense getting better, but he is still AD. another 125 + yard day with at least a TD

2. Maurice Jones Drew (Jacksonville Jaguars) @ Houston – Last week against the Cardinals, MJD fell victim to a big defecit forcing Jacksonville to throw the ball. Houston has the weapons to run up the score, but the Jags will force feed the ball to Jones Drew. This should be a real good game for MJD. 120/1

3. Fred Jackson (Buffalo Bills) vs. New Orleans – Last game for Freddy as Marshawn Lynch returns from suspension next week. Jackson certainly earned to chance to continue starting. The Bills will do everything possible to keep Drew Brees off the field, this means mondo carries for Jackson. 120/1

4. Matt Forte (Chicago Bears) @ Seattle – Forte might be the early lead for bust of the year after an awesome rookie season. Yet to score a TD or break 100 yards or 75 yards, or 60 yards. You get the picture. But this week against Seattle he will regain his game and give fantasy owners is first double digit performance.

5. Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins) @ Detroit – Portis is off to a decent year with about 70 yards rushing a game. Still no TD. The perfect tonic for a good game with a TD…The Lions rush defense.

Waiver Wire

***UPDATED***Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker – Troy Williamson left the game with a shoulder injury and Sims-Walker had 101 yards and a TD. If Williamson stays out, this guy will be a decent option.

Jacksonville placed receiver Troy Williamson on the injured reserve on Monday, after he sustained a torn labrum in his right shoulder Sunday during the Jags’ loss to Arizona. Williamson’s absence means the Jags will promote Mike Sims-Walker to the No. 2 receiving spot.

Bills QB Trent Edwards – Edwards had a good game against Tampa Bay. throwing for 230 and 2 TDs. Next week he is going to be passing all day to try and keep up with Drew Brees.

Eagles QB Kevin Kolb – Kolb had great numbers against the Saints except for the 2 INTs. 391 yds, 2TDs. He can be a good fill in for next week against the Chiefs.

Giants WRs Mario Manningham and Steve Smith - Both of these guys may be available, and both of them had 10 catches on Sunday Night against the Cowboys.

Rams WR Laurent Robinson – Donnie Avery is struggling and Robinson is getting the looks. 141 yards and 2 TDs in the first 2 weeks.

Eagles TE Brent Celek – 2 weeks, 2 stud performances. 8 grabs for 104 yards.
