Revis-on-Ochocinco

Despite his own lackluster performance against the Jets twice in the past month, Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco is not yet ready to call Jets CB Darrelle Revis a shutdown corner. Ochocinco caught just two passes for 28 yards in two games, both losses, to the Jets in Week 17 and the wild-card round. “We have a guy that’s had one great season, and we want to label him a shutdown corner.” Ochocinco said.

Cardinals free safety Antrel Rolle settled in as a starter in 2009, but his salary is due to jump to $8.1 million this year and he’s due a roster bonus of $4 million. This is the last season of his rookie deal, and those devices were placed in the contract to force the two sides back to the bargaining table. Rolle has said he’s not going to accept a paycut.

Post image for Fantasy Football 2009 Week 3 Wide Receiver Rankings

1. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ Arizona – Reggie had a stupid week 1 and a forgettable week 2. 162 to 37. This week his good numbers will continue against a suspect Arizona secondary. This game has shoot out potential and Peyton loves prime time games. And he loves throwing to Wayne in prime time games. Expect an average of his 2 weeks and then some 115/1.5

2. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) vs. Jacksonville – What a week for Andre last Sunday. Good times will keep rolling against the piss poor Jacksonville defense. 149 yards and 2 TDs is a tough act to follow, but 110 and a TD, now that’s almost guaranteed.

3. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) vs. Atlanta – The Patriots ran into a sick Jets defense last week, that shut just about everything down except Julian Edelman. Moss and Brady just had a rough outing. They will both be back this week against the Falcons, and their 17th ranked pass defense.

4. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Indianapolis – The big yards aren’t there…yet. But the TDs are. This week in a prime time shoot out, Larry gets both. The Colts have a tainted number 1 ranked pass defense, playing Garrard and Pennington. 105/1

5. Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints) @ Buffalo Bills – The best WR on the best offense with the best QB. Yup. If Brees didn’t throw to everyone, Colston would be higher. 100/1

NFL Week 2 Backwash – Not Necessarily the News

Post image for NFL Week 2 Backwash – Not Necessarily the News

Earlier this week, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco said he would do a Lambeau Leap if he scored a touchdown at Green Bay on Sunday. He did and ran towards the stands and spotted a small group of Bengals fans in the front row near the end zone, then leaped into the crowd just like Green Bay players do after they score.

“It was fun,” Ochocinco said. “I had a little indecision on where to jump at first. I didn’t want to disrespect their tradition, so I was asking as I went along the line. I saw some Bengals fans that said it was OK.”

1. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) @ New York Jets – Randy Moss is wicked good. So is Andre Johnson and the Jets shut him down. But Tom Brady is wickeder than Matt Schaub. 110/2

2. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) @ Jacksonville – In all of the disaster that was the Cardinals offense last week, Fitz was the only one that came to play. 6 grabs, 71 yards, and a TD. And that’s really not that great for Fitz. Things will get better, and this week he will get back on track. 110/1

3. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ Miami – How awesome is this guy. a buck 62 and a TD. Miami just does not have the defense to hold Wayne back. With problems at the 2 spot, Wayne is the man. 110/1

4. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) vs. Cincinnati – Jennings got off to a good start with 106 yards and a TD. Another day at the office this week against a weak Bengals defense. 105/1

5. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina – Roddy White didn’t have a crazy good game last week against the Dolphins. Only 42 yards without a TD. Matt Ryan will be looking for White t./ <—cat walked on the keyboard. this week. 95/1

6. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) vs. Minnesota – Megatron Rules! Johnson had 13 looks from Stafford in week 1, but only grabbed 3. But those 3 went for 90. Sick. Minny’s defense is tough, but you should still expect the same type of output from CJ this week. 90/1 [click to continue…]
