The Bears receivers are having trouble holding on to Jay Cutler’s passes. According to reports, during the team’s first OTA’s of the offseason passes are being dropped left and right

“It takes a little time to adjust,” offensive coordinator Ron Turner said. “They know they better get their head around and get their hands up because that ball’s going to be there.”

With all due respect Ron, it has nothing to do with adjustments. The Bears WRs just stink.  Rashied Davis, Earl Bennett, Devin Hester, along with draft picks Juaquin Iglesias, Johnny Knox, and Derek Kinder, stink. Some are calling this group the worst receiving corps in the NFL, and one of the worst of all-time.

So what can the Bears do to fix this problem? They should be throwing the kitchen sink at Arizona for Anquan Boldin. Boldin would be a perfect fit for Chicago. They already unloaded enough to get Cutler, so why not go for broke and get one of the league’s premier WRs to play catch with a premiere QB?

To a lesser degree of studliness is the Browns WR, Braylon Edwards. Edwards is coming of a sub par year in 2008, but we all have seen what this kid can do. He won’t cost as much trade wise to get him from Cleveland.

What I don’t understand is why GM Jerry Angelo wouldn’t pursue Plaxico Burress if he doesn’t get locked up. I understand that the guy shot himself. As stupid as that is, the guy can play football. See what happened to the Giants after he left. Plus, he is the only option of the 3 that won’t cost any draft picks.

Although the bidding is now over, you could have had your own Super Bowl XXXVI ring, commemorating the franchise’s first Super Bowl win when New England beat the heavily favored St. Louis Rams 20-17 in Super Bowl XXXVI.

The seller is currently asking for a minimum bid of $50,000 for the hardware, though so far there are no takers.

This from the eBay item description:

The ring is a size 11. Since it is 14K white gold it can be re-sized by any reputable jeweler. It weighs approximately 68.3 grams. It is one of the largest Super Bowl rings made. This is an authentic players ring. It is not a salesman sample or staff ring. This player received his first of three rings in Super Bowl 36 against Kurt Warner and the St. Louis Rams. He also has rings from Super Bowl 37 and Super Bowl 39. In order to protect the player’s privacy his name will only be revealed to the winner after the ring is paid in full.

Colts running back Mike Hart is on schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL in his knee.

The Packers were very high on USC linebacker Clay Matthews heading into last month’s NFL Draft, and considered taking him with the ninth overall pick.

Bears head coach Lovie Smith has no plans to give WR Devin Hester a break from punt-return duties. “No way,” he said.

Jaguars quarterback David Garrard, who like the team struggled last season, believes that the pieces are in place for a turnaround this season. “We definitely have a playoff-caliber team here,” Garrard said.

The Jets will continue to keep an eye on the Plaxico Burress legal situation.

Free agent linebacker Larry Foote will visit the Lions on Wednesday, his agent, Ken Kremer, said in an e-mail today.
