1. Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts) vs. Seattle – Peyton is up to his old tricks lighting up defenses and score boards. 9 TDs, and only 2 INts. He is on a tear and it is Seattle’s turn to get tore up. Manning is # 1 this week 325/3

2. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) @ Minnesota – Rodgers has quietly put up some good fantasy numbers. 714 yards and 4 TDs with 0 INTs. This week he faces a Vikings defense that had the pleasure of playing against greats such as, Brady Quinn, Matthew Stafford, and Shaun Hill in the first 3 weeks. Rodgers will show them what a real QB can do. 300+ 2 TD.

3. Jay Cutler (Chicago Bears) vs. Detroit – This week’s charity points are being donated to Jay Cutler on behalf of the Detroit Lions. Cutler is on a 2 game tear and the Lions are the 29th ranked pass defense.

4. Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) vs. New York Jets – Normally Brees would be in the top 3, but if the Jets defense is as good as they say. He will only be able to perform at a 4th ranked level. Which is still pretty damn good. It’s very possible he just kills the Jets secondary, but a 280/2 day seems fair.

5. Philip Rivers (San Diego Chargers) @ Pittsburgh – The Steelers are falling apart a little bit up in Pittsburgh. The defense is still damn good, but without Troy Polamalu the Steelers is defense is ranked 15th against the pass, against 2nd last season. Rivers will have himself a nice day this week in Pittsburgh.

Fantasy Football 2009 Week 3 Quarterback Rankings

1. Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) @ Buffalo Bills – Do I really need to explain this? Brees is the Best QB in the NFL right now. Nobody can stop him.

2. Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts) @ Arizona – Peyton and Kurt Warner are going to light up the scoreboards against each other in week 3. And if you own Manning this is exactly the type of game you love. Sit back, relax and enjoy another 300+ yard game and at least 2 TDs.

3. Tom Brady (New England Patriots) vs. Atlanta – Brady got his ass beat up last week against the Jets defense. My Jets still haven’t allowed a TD. This week against Atlanta he may find himself smack dab in the middle of the other shoot out of week 3. Brady will be looking to bounce back against the Falcons who just allowed Jake Delhomme to have a 300 yard game.

4. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) @ St. Louis – Threw for 261 yards and a TD last week. Kinda expected more against the Bengals. Kinda had him ranked first. Either way the numbers were still solid, and he has an easier match up this week against the Rams. The Rams have been giving up over 250 yards a game to QBs and 1.5 TDs.

5. Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons) @ New England – 549 yards, 5 TDs, 1 INT. That is not a bad 2 week stat line. Ryan New England will be playing pissed after the JETS loss. Ryan will be playing catch u with Brady and the Pats, which means plenty of passing. And he’s got plenty of options to throw to. 275/2

Fantasy Football 2009 Week 2 Quarterback Rankings

Post image for Fantasy Football 2009 Week 2 Quarterback Rankings

1. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) vs Cincinnati – How dare you rank Rodgers 1 this week after only 184 yards and 1 TD last week? Rodgers is better then that stat line and he will show it this week against a rough Bengals secondary. They played well last week against Kyle Orton and the Broncos, But Rodgers is just better and will play that way.

2. Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) @ Philadelphia – Philadelphia has a good defense, but no one will stop Drew Brees this year. He absolutely lit up the Detroit secondary last. Although my cousin Eric could light the Lions secondary up. But even 360 yards and 6 TDs is alot for E-Rock. Look for Brees to come back down to earth but still with close or just above 300 yards and at least 2 TDs.

3. Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts) @ Miami – The Dolphins defensive backfield did a decent job holding Matt Ryan to 229 yards and 2 TDs in week 1. But he is not Peyton Manning yet. Manning will have a good day as usual against a middle of the road secondary. Miami had problems containing Tony Gonzalez so they should have a ton of fun with Dallas Clark.

4. Tom Brady (New England Patriots) @ New York Jets – Another Jets home opener, another visit from the Pats. Brady is just fine from his injury. True story here folks… Monday Night the Pats were down 24-13, I took my dog for a walk and come back, Patriots won 25-24. I looked at the TV and said “What the Fuck?” And Tom Brady was being interviewed and I was suddenly no longer surprised. He’s a bad man, and even though the Jets defense might seem legit, Brady will get his near 300 yards and a couple TDs.

5. Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina – Ryan had a pretty darn good game on Sunday against Miami. Matty Ice threw for 229 yards and 2 TDs. The Panthers got smashed last week and Atlanta wants to go for the kill and start thier division rival at 0-2. Ryan will have plenty to do with that task.

6. Matt Hasselbeck (Seattle Seahawks) @ San Francisco - Hasselbeck had a good day last week against a very weak defense. St. Louis just could not handle all of his weapons, and TE John Carlson was the man. San Francisco’s defense did well against the Cardinals offense last week, but Arizona has no run game, and are just not meshing right now. Matt and the Hawks offense are meshing quite well with new WR TJ Who’s your mama. So another 279 yard 3 TD day is very possible for MH this week. [click to continue…]

The Falcons unveiled Thursday the throwback jerseys they will wear for two games this season. The Falcons will wear them when they play host to the defending NFC South champion Carolina Panthers on Sept. 20. They will wear them again when Tampa Bay comes to the Georgia Dome on Nov. 29.

Bears RB Matt Forte likely will get at least half a dozen carries Saturday night when the Bears host the Giants at Soldier Field. “He needs to get some work,” said offensive coordinator Ron Turner.

Eagles coach Andy Reid left open the possibility last night that Michael Vick would play in the team’s third exhibition game next week, but he would not guarantee it. “He had a good week of work,” Reid said. “He got a good workout in today. We’ll see how he does next week. We’re shooting for the third game. We’ll see. We’ve just got to get a feel on him throughout the week.” [click to continue…]

Post image for Broncos Insider – Eddie Royal, Kyle Orton, Brandon Stokley

Denver Broncos wide receiver Eddie Royal is being groomed as an offensive centerpiece after a breakout rookie campaign a year ago.

“He sticks out every day,” Denver coach Josh McDaniels said. “Eddie is a very talented player, a lot of ability, very smart, versatile. We move him all over the field. He’s very unselfish, wants to do what’s best for the team. He’s accepted his role and he’s doing a great job with it so far.”

Kyle Orton completed so many passes to Brandon Stokley during the controlled scrimmage at Invesco Field at Mile High that no one should have trouble learning who will play the Wes Welker role in the Broncos’ new offense this year. But there was also a smattering of boos from the gathering of 13,402 fans after Orton was intercepted twice by cornerback Andre Goodman, who returned one for a touchdown.

“Made some mistakes, did some good things,” Orton said. “Got some things to learn from.”
