Ok Ladies and Gents, here we go. I am sure by now you checked out how the season played out. But here is the meat and potatoes. Playoffs and Super Bowl. And Congrats to the Brett Favre Adrian Peterson led Minnesota Vikings. Tecmo Super Bowl has picked the Vikings to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super XLIV. Let’s check it out step by step.

Full Playoff Bracket

Jets vs. Bills – With QB Ryan Fitzpatrick starting for injured Trent Edwards, the Buffalo Bills fall to the Jets 31-21 in the Meadowlands. Rookie Mark Sanchez continues his tear through the NFL throwing for 212 yards. 109 of those yards went to Jerricho Cotchery. Terrell Owens caught 7 balls for 187 yards, but it wasn’t ebough for the Bills. The Jets advance to the divisional round where the Colts await them.

Chargers vs. Steelers – The Steelers defense just completely and absolutely shut down the San Diego Chargers offense. Phillip Rivers threw for 113 yards and 2 INTs. And the combined running attack of LT and Darren Sproles only accounted for 37 yards. Ben Roethlisberger continues his solid play with a good effort throwing for 242 yards. The Steelers are rolling strong heading into a grudge match against the AFC North Division winning Baltimore Ravens.

Post image for 2009 NFL Season Predictions Tecmo Super Bowl Style!

The 2009 NFL Season is set to kick off on Thursday Night. What a fantastic time of the year. Everyone is an expert and everyone’s team looks good. But can a person actually, accurately predict the season? No chance in hell, but I can guarantee Tecmo Super Bowl can.

Doing some crafty internet research, I came across a rom for NFL 2010. I ran a simulated season through a NES emulator and these were the results. (Keep in mind these games are played in Tecmo time, if you have played the game you know what I’m talking about.)

NFC

SOUTH

Bucs Division Champs

The Bucs clinch the NFC South with an impressive 8-8 record. It seems Tecmo doesn’t like the south as not one team breaks .500.  Byron Leftwich has a solid season throwing 2,924 yards and 30 Tds. Beating out Drew Brees’ 23 TD effort. Matt Ryan had sub-par season and Jake Delhomme finally just fell apart.
